Things to check before leaving in a van

As the end of the summer approaches, but not the end of travel, we've put together a little checklist of essentials to take with you in your van. To keep preciously for all your escapades!

THE ESSENTIALS

  • Driver's license 
  • Identity card / Passport 
  • Vehicle documents
  • Species 
  • A GPS / road map
  • A portable battery 
  • A USB LED headlamp/flashlight
  • A hand brush
  • A floor mat
  • Chairs / table if your van does not contain one
  • A cooler
  • A sleeping bag or comforter 

CLOTHING

  • Cap / Hat
  • Sunglasses
  • Rain jacket 
  • Fleece 
  • Warm clothes! (It can get cold at night)
  • Shoes for chilling 
  • Backpack
  • Your suitcase / travel bag

THE KITCHEN

  • Gas stove / Refill
  • Lighter / Matches 
  • Small camping dishes 
  • Casserole / Frying pan / Salad bowl 
  • Can opener / Bottle opener / Corkscrew
  • Drinking water can 
  • Roll of garbage bags 
  • Paper towel rolls
  • Sponge / Dishcloth
  • Plastic basin 
  • Dishwashing liquid
  • Some tupperware
  • A coffee or tea maker 

HYGIENE

  • First aid kit 
  • Drugs
  • Toilet paper 
  • A small shovel 
  • Wipes
  • Solar shower 
  • Marseille Soap
  • Earplugs (Seagulls can wake you up at 3am 😉 ) 
  • Mosquito repellent

This list is not exhaustive. It is also to be adapted according to your destination but it will already allow you a more serene stay without spending your time running after the hypermarkets to buy what you would have forgotten! Remember to take pillows to sleep comfortably anywhere!
