Travel trends in 2023
There are still a few days left in the month of January and it was an opportunity for the team to explore a bit of the 2023 trends for travel.
On our first day, we woke up in a beautiful place, on the edge of a cliff overlooking the sea and there was a magnificent sunrise. After breakfast, we set off for the van point. Although the sun was soon hidden, there was a nice light to take pictures of the landscape.
We then went to the Baie des Trépassés and had a nice walk. In the evening we found a nice spot and played a board game in the van before going to sleep.
Today, we have an important meeting with the Communauté de Communes to present EVAZION to them.
On the road, I saw a "mosaic eye" on a city wall. I had already seen two others with dad during our trips. There are some everywhere, hidden in Brittany. There would be 116 of them, scattered everywhere in the communes of Finistère. The artist who created them is called Pierre Chanteau. He wanted to pay tribute to the people who have helped or are helping sailors in trouble.
It's up to you to find them during your next trip!
Now we are at the Bigoudens Makers in Pont L'abbé, the place is really nice! It's a third place, which means that there are several activities in the same place: a café-restaurant, a coworking, accommodation, ... And apparently, dad tasted the best cappuccino of the trip!
For the record, the Bigouden was the cotton headdress worn by the peasant women of Pont-l'Abbé.
Today, we woke up next to a very nice deserted beach, where nature is slowly taking over. We joined Bernard and Catherine who had invited us to share breakfast with them.
We then went to visit a castle in a large estate, Le Dourdy, before heading to the port of Loctudy, to visit the Alexis Le Gall canning factory museum.
We then had to go up little by little towards Kerdreux in the Crozon peninsula for the continuation of our meetings.
This time it was not easy to choose where we would spend the night, because the weather forecast predicted the passage of the storm Diego during the night. Indeed, at the end of the day, the sea was raging. When we arrived at Kerdreux, we went back to the Plage de la Palue . But before the storm arrived, we still took the time to have an aperitif on the beach with chips and cider, sitting in the sand.
This Thursday morning, we had another meeting with the Community of Communes but this time on the Crozon peninsula and once again the project was well received.
After the meeting, we passed by the Cornouaille Battery near the Capucins Fort, it was very impressive!
To finish this beautiful day, we went to " Chez Germaine ". It is above all a bar located at the top of the Veryach beach... Formerly "Chez Mémé Germaine", this bar is now run by a small group of surfing and rocking friends. They propose delicious pancakes and in summer concerts, in a great atmosphere!
On Friday, we went to see the Snake Rock, and then we had to go to Kerandraon, to visit an EVAZION field. On the way, we saw a strange phenomenon in the sky, a kind of rainbow cloud, and it was really beautiful to see.
Today I decided that I wanted to memorise the height and light of all the lighthouses in Finistère. For example, to know that the Phare de la jument is 48 metres high and that it flashes red 3 times every 12 seconds.
We continued our day in Carantec and the Bay of Morlaix, walking near the Château du Taureau, the lighthouse of Ile Louët and the beach of Tahiti (it's not really in Tahiti, but it was really beautiful).
In the afternoon, we went to the bay of Saint-Brieuc, we went down and up the Gwin Zegal, it was very tiring because there were lots of stairs. You should also know that at the Gwin Zegal, there is the last pile port in France. A pile harbouris a harbour where boats are attached to large wooden piles .
We ended this beautiful day in Erquy, to admire the sunset on the beach. There were already several vans installed on the spot we had chosen to spend the night. We met some very nice van lifers with whom we could discuss about EVAZION.
This morning there was a beautiful sunrise to start our last day in Brittany. We went to get some viennoiseries and settled down at the bar Le Frehel for breakfast. They allow us to take our pastries with us in most of the small cafes, which is nice enough to eat sitting down with a hot drink.
We then had a last appointment in Erquy to meet a very nice lady who had a plot of land to offer us for EVAZION. We also took the opportunity to make a detour to Cap Fréhel and its lighthouse, and then to visit the Fort de la Latte. We wanted to go to Saint-Jacut-de-la-mer to go around theEbihens archipelago but the tide was already too high, so we just had a picnic with a nice view.
We ended our exploration with a final stop at Mont-Saint-Michel, which we were able to see at close quarters before continuing to climbslowly towards Belgium.
More on this during our next expedition!
Eva.
There are still a few days left in the month of January and it was an opportunity for the team to explore a bit of the 2023 trends for travel.
In 2022 the EVAZION team gathered around the idea of making van travel more accessible and more serene, especially for those who were hesitating to take the plunge. The bet was kept since more than 300 travelers discovered our spots and our philosophy. Let's talk about it!
Before the Christmas vacations, the EVAZION team has prepared a small selection of gift ideas to offer or to offer oneself of course.
